The New Puritanical Pharisees

It’s been some time since the terms Pharisee and Puritan were converted into pejoratives, used to describe a hypocrite and overly judgmental censor respectively. In many cases, these words have been employed against Biblical Christians by secularists to euphemistically represent our views as duplicitous and repressive to the rest of society.

Ironically enough, those very same heralds of human liberty who’ve denounced Christianity’s propensity to enslave (I write this sarcastically), have turned out to be the very same thing they’ve supposedly been fighting all along. Continue reading

Intolerance is a Virtue

Historically, toleration has been understood to mean different things within two particular contexts – one personal and one political. In a personal sense, a tolerating person is said to be an individual that valiantly resists bad times and evil influences. In a political sense, toleration has meant that society as a whole permits ideological differences within itself with the implicit understanding that no harm should come to those that express differences of opinion. Both definitions have been contorted into a newfangled and pernicious notion that reeks of malicious intent. Continue reading

What is the Christian Response to “In Diversity there is Strength”?

It is undeniable that certain factions within our culture are maliciously bringing Christ’s words about a divided house to fruition. (“And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” – Mark 3:25) Identity politics has taken root and caused deep fissures within the West. Worse still, it has infected the Body of Christ. Even within the denomination thought to be the most conservative in its theology, the Southern Baptist Convention, certain elements are loudly demanding that the organization adopt identity politics so as to make the group more “inclusive”. (For example, many are now claiming that an individual should be given a position of control and influence simply because they are a woman or of an ethnicity that isn’t white.) Continue reading

What Ever Happened to Discipline?

Has anyone seen discipline as of late? Is it possible that it and its definition are aimlessly wandering the streets like a vagrant? Could they have simply disappeared, never to be seen again? Is it probable that they were excommunicated from the English language and subsequently removed from all English dictionaries so as to remove their tenets from the minds of society?

The reason I inquire is because the word and its meaning are no longer adhered to or even uttered by many in our culture. Teachers have desisted from using it, churches fear employing it within a New Testament context and, most troubling of all, parents do not instruct their children in it or through it. Google proves, once more, that it is what it says it isn’t: Evil

Appearances can be deceiving. Hence, it’s the primary reason the secular Left has employed lies peppered with sentimentalism in order to advance Cultural Marxism. Smokescreens are the only way they can advance their seditious agenda, otherwise, by speaking the truth about their ideas adherents would be hard to come by.

By and large, the stratagem has worked, as evidenced in this instance by the reactions many perpetually offended social justice warriors within and outside Google have proffered to a 10-page denunciation of the company’s ideological bent. Continue reading
